Yes times have definitely changed and more and more products are coming out with default ssids other than just 'linksys' or 'NETGEAR' or 'belkin54g'. Take cisco/linksys for example. hey was wondering if I anyone had a default ssid list or if I could get the list used for the wigle.net db?
I am trying to expand and automate my queries for my local db so when I update my files and such I won't have to hand jam everything.

Just a ssid heuristic, ssid's and mac addresses can be changed, so it all should be taken with a grain of salt. very true and i get that. would it be possible to get those numbers of default ssids matched with manufacturer macs? it would be interesting to see not just the numbers of matched devices ...

i was just wondering if the "Networks with default SSID" stat was only based on the ssid or if it is based on the ssid and matched with the proper the manufacturer's oui? for example: making sure that a default ssid of Linksys is actually coming from a linksys/cisco device. just bored and curious.
