Re: What is the problem with the queue???

Is the long queue due to an exceptionally enormous file that is being parsed?

Re: Long (48") antennas - Intellinet 502306

Are you thinking of a mobile or static mount? I don't know if these are flexible.
I was thinking of it as a mobile mount on my bike.

Re: Laptop recommendations for Warwalking?

Will any of those android devices work with the AWUS036H?
No - just use the built in WiFi. In my estimation, two phones with crappy WiFi running simultaneously outperforms one laptop with high performance WiFi.

Re: Laptop recommendations for Warwalking?

Use a pair of Android phones running WiGLE app w an extra pair of batteries. Light, cheap, inconspicuous, redundant, elegant.

Re: Rasberry Pi

I'm not getting as good performance as I'd hoped out of my Pi: my Android phones running find more APs (due to scanning at 50ms, I think) - although my Pi finds ones further (due to a better antenna, I think). As a comparison, on the same run: • Pi v2 w/ Alfa AWUS036H w/ 9dbi antenna and BU-353 GPS, ...

Long (48") antennas - Intellinet 502306

9332375900_de2f17f971_z.jpg I came across a long 48" (1.22m) 12dbi antenna yesterday - an Intellinet 502306. I was thinking it could double as one of those long bike flag poles, almost. Any advice about this antenna, brand, or long antennas in general? INTELLINET 502306 High-Gain Omni-Directional ...

Re: Show your wardriving stuff/box

After the first time running with both a Nexus One and a brand new Raspberry Pi with an Alfa AWUS036H w/ a 9db antenna (and swapping it w/ a yagi half way through the run), I'm almost inclined to agree with you - I know that I don't have my Pi completely optimized, but I think my phone outperformed ...

Re: Rasberry Pi

I got mine up and running - it was primarily an issue with me using apt-get on the rpi, which installs a very old version of kismet. Feeling dumb.

Re: Rasberry Pi

(Currently waiting for a newer version of kismet to compile on my rpi... it's taking a while) Although this isn't difficult to make with protoboard, here's something I came across that could be a useful as a rpi-based car configuration - it's cheap, too: https://www.modmypi.com/image/cache/data ...

Re: Would an Alfa R36 w/ a AWUS036H work w/ Wigle Android ap

I've got Kismet up with the Alfa AWUS036H, and the BU-353 up (visible through cgps and xgps), but Kismet and the GPS aren't connecting. After digging around, I think the problem is with the version of Kismet I'm running - apt-get on the Pi seems to install kismet_server 2008.05.R1 - and the current ...

Re: Would an Alfa R36 w/ a AWUS036H work w/ Wigle Android ap

I've spent several hours today hitting my head against the wall trying to get a bunch of things configured without luck Any thoughts about this? You're on the right track, although it is possible to get an external Wifi adapter working on Android it can be very difficult and time consuming. I'd ...

Would an Alfa R36 w/ a AWUS036H work w/ Wigle Android app?

I've spent several hours today hitting my head against the wall trying to get a bunch of things configured without luck: Raspberry Pi w/ Raspbian & Kismet, Raspberry Pi w/ Kali & Kismet, Ubuntu & Kismet, Kismac and a bunch of other stuff. The key hardware I'm using is an Alfa AWUS036H and a BU-353 ...
