Knoppix-STD and my screen resolution

This may or may not be the place to post this, but since I use this setup strictly for wardriving, I figured i'd give it a try. I use Knoppix STD to run Kismet for wardriving. Everything works amazingly well, except for one small problem. I have a widescreen laptop, the resolution is 1280x800. And I ...

I ended up getting it working through reading a chapter of a wardriving book (the one that Thorn over on the netstumbler board wrote) to get GPS working, and a hell of a lot of googling to get the rest down. Now it boots to Knoppix, and basically I type a bunch of commands to get it all set up how I ...

Getting Kismet up and running for n00bs

Does anyone know of a tutorial or walkthrough or whatnot on how to get Kismet up and running with GPS? I've never used Linux before (well I have a little, but don't know much about it at all), and got the Knoppix STD live CD... I opened Kismet and it found 42 APs, in comparison to the 14 that ...

I take the commuter train every weekend from my dorm in Chicago to where I stay on the weekends in the south suburbs, and whipped out my new laptop on my ride yesterday. Got 50 APs just sitting in LaSalle street station. Along the way it goes through some pretty shitty neighborhoods, so I didn't ...

Well I got all moved in, and I have to say, I LOVE the city. I'm heading out to the suburbs today to visit a friend, and i'm gonna have my laptop going the whole way. It's my first drive in Chicago, hopefully it'll be a good one.

Time to move!

http://seinman.net/imghostpics/beta/36910555525_0.jpg Looks like i'm ready for a road trip. Yup, i'm uprooting myself and moving to Illinois to attend school. I'll be moving into my dorm in downtown Chicago on September 18th. I grew up in the suburbs, but haven't lived in IL for four years. What's ...

Thanks for the info. I figured that the color/thickness of the line had something to do with how many networks were around, but wasn't quite sure. That was just a quick drive through my subdivision, testing out how well it worked with live tracking. I'm moving to Chicago to go to school (Columbia ...

What does all this mean?

I've been wardriving for a while, but just today installed digle and the NS script to pass along the GPS data. Now i'm curious as to what all this actually means. I've got thick lines, thin lines, and +s everywhere. I already figured out that the squares are the already mapped APs (in the case of ...
