Tar files not working? / any progress on command line postin
I've always posted tar.gz files in the past. I have not posted for 2 months. Today I tried to post a tar.gz file and each time it failed with no comment. Posting xml, csv, and gps files worked fine. Years ago there was some discussion of enabling the ability to post via command line. Has there been ...

the new gpsd? kismet.
I recently switched to Debian testing from etch. I noticed that gpsd wasn't letting kismet connect, then it was but it wasn't working. I downgraded the version of gpsd and it worked fine. (thought the second time gpsd took up 99.9% of system resources). In regards to the newer version, I noticed ...

Thank you for your picture. The preamps aren't as close to the antennas as I had thought. I am curious about what preamps look like with mag-mounts. But I guess it doesn't matter much... by a long run, i meant something more along the lines of an external antenna mounted above your roof at home. for ...

I know that the pre amp needs to go next to the antenna. I'm just trying to imagine how this will work with my Comet antenna on a mag mount. The mag mount itself has the coax connected to it; I certainly don't feel comfortable enough soldering to work the preamp into the line and the idea of the ...

Getting old Kismet files loaded by Kismet
Is there a way to have Kismet load stored Kismet files? I recently discovered that the MySQL database that I'd been using hadn't recorded more than about 1400 points. I reinstalled GPSDrive. This time 2.10pre3 using the new geoinfo table. I would like to get my points into the database. I ...
Post all three.
GPS contains the most thorough amount of data. Sometimes XML and CSV will have file that GPS doesn't have. In my experience, my GPS always have more recorded networks that the XML.
I was going to do the same with an atheros card and a hirose / ufl to n male connector. I got the stuff but the reception of the supposedly wonderfil mini-pci card was disappointing. So the stress of use two atheros cards at the same time and taking my laptop's (a gateway 7426gx) life in my hands ...
Yes, it's waterproof. 1. For GPS keep in mind you need WAAS. 2.Aside of that you might want to ask yourself if you want to use it ever without your computer. I don't. I had (have) a bu puck like the one themacuser recommended. (I think the one he recommended is better). I also have a Garmin Etrex. I ...
Did you edit /etc/kismet/kismet.conf? sudo -i cd /etc/kismet pico kismet.conf then change suiduser=your login name source=madwifi_g, wifi0, {name} gps=true metric=true logtypes=csv, xml, gps (deltete the others) after you've done that, type ctrl-x, save and exit then (if you want some cheesey fun and ...
