Crowdsourcing (Distributed Processing) Work for WiGLE? (similar to SETI@home)
I just had an idea and wondered if it is at all feasible (or if it would even work this way); crowdsourcing the work for trilaterating?
For instance, I have a Dell PowerEdge R720, R630 and R640 whose resources largely go unused, but I would be more than willing to let a 'WiGLE client app' run on them that could contribute to the processing legwork. I used to be a SETI@home fanatic as well as occasionally assisted with Folding@home, Eisntein@home and ClimatePrediction.net and the thought of a similar situation with WiGLE didn't hit me until now. This, if possible, could be a gamechanger with the currently long trilaterating queues.
Could this be a thing?

The performance challenge with WiGLE isn't CPU, it's I/O and latency. We'd radically slow the network by distributing the work, since it would require distributing terabytes of data continually.
What does the current server hardware consist of? Would say, donating an R630 with a considerable amount of DDR4 RAM be a significant upgrade from what's in place now? I've been really curious about the WiGLE rig for quite some time. If you have any pictures or hardware specs id love to see them. The performance challenge with WiGLE isn't CPU, it's I/O and latency.
