trouble updating data
I tried to update an AP's gps several times, but the old data won't budge. How do I update an AP's gps?

Maybe if we get enough asking the same question we'll get an answer this year.
Personally I don't think the answer is going to be what we want to hear.

well, you're not going to like the answer....
wigle.net is an aggregator. you (and us as well) don't have any control of position, just observation. we provide rough "triangulation" based on many many observations and as much information from those observations as we can extract from posted files.
we do not provide the location of access points (although that would be neat too), but a probabilty function of their past observations. how we do that changes over time as the system is refined, and "where" a point is changes as it is observed. its the (current) nature of the beast, for better or worse.

For this specific instance, one more correct observation would have put it in the correct spot. But it happens that the really bad observation is near one of our dead zones, so I increased the deadzone a little and retriangulated it, now it's more likely to be where you think it should.
More observations == more correct (maybe)
More observations == more correct (maybe)
Can the dead zones be defined publically somewhere? It might be interesting to some of us.
