My wardriving gear - Apple iBook
So I should not have any problems if I buy a 802.11b adapter then? They are a load cheaper.
I cant seem to find a 802.11g one for a good price and thats compatible with KisMac.

hello!
i'm needing some help please!
i'm a titanium 1ghz user with built in airport and kismac.
i've configured my airport card as passive mode in the driver, but i can't get the "injection" option "use as primary device" and canºt use de "reinject packets" in the Network menu. is there any way to enable this option and speed up the data packets?
thanks in advance

Last time I checked there still is no forum. The developers use mailing lists. To add a bit more trouble there does not seem to be an archive of discussions. What does the kismac forums say about it?
Up shot though. The project has two new maintainers. They promise and update to the site. Which I hope includes the return of the wiki.
Check out http://trac.kismac.de/ for current builds and developer fun, and http://www.freelists.org/archives/kismac/ for discussions. There is a ton of activity of late, including more stable builds for Airport Extreme passive mode and a Universal Binary.

Yeah, kisMAC dedfinatly roxs all. It is more pretty, more stable and has more functionality then anything I've ever seen for windows [my primairy platform].
I use the R98 since a couple of days [war bikeing, will post a pic soon ] and with an external card [Long Rangne, PRISM2] with two external antennas and this, combined with the low speed of the bike, gives excellent results.
The most difficult was to get my hands on a serial to USB connector, at 10:00 in the morning in Amsterdam
Cheers,
mokum

There you go:
Bike from: De FietsFabriek, an Ibook, Prism2 card with two external +6Db omni's and a Garmin.
KisMAC to tie it all together.

I just picked up a Holux GPSlim 236 bluetooth receiver and paired it up with my iBook G4 and KisMac R98. It also works a fabulously with gpsd 2.31.
AND it works great with my iPaq 5455 and WiFiFoFum2, still my primary stumbling gear!

You might want to post that on the KisMAC developer list or check the bug posts on trac.kismac.de.hi

Still not possible, this ticket was closed on their boards, so I added a comment and reopened it.
I'm currently running a G4 iBook, with Airport Extreme, and have the same problem.
Easiest fix is get a USB wifi key, witha prism2 chipset, and then just go for it. For a list of OSX compatible wifi devices check this.

If anyone has used a USB device with kismac let me know, i'm keen to get one that I know will work, heard so many stories across multiple message boards about DLINK ones not working among other issues.
Or I could wait til they release a version which allows Airport Extreme to be used as a primary.
