Android - Wifiscanner upload
Quick Q, if I post(here) a ~650 network .csv from the Android Wifiscanner app, can someone make a script that will convert it into another .csv that the Wigle uploader will accept? I tried to upload a smaller 50 network file and the system essentially told me "move along, nothing to see"
Or better yet, could the Wigle gods take my .csv and update the system to accept it directly?

the easiest way is to get your data output to a standard format (wi-scan or kismet or ns1). this is guaranteed to work, and be supported.
the less easy way would be to send your file to us at wigle-admin@wigle.net and we'll have a look at what would be involved in adapting either it or the parsers. which may or may not result in it being supported (lots of work for a one-off isn't always in the cards unless someone's super-bored)

I have just started using g-mon for android. it is a pretty amazing app. found 1200 wifi networks and mapped them to gps coordinates during my 15 minute walk/bus ride to work. best part is that it exports all of this to .kml files. maybe you should give this free app a shot, its new but awesome so far. also, for uploading to wigle from android (on a g1 at least) use opera mini rather than the os browser. in opera you can actually select and upload files, whereas in the native browser that functionality is disabled.
g-mon exported logs also wont upload onto wigle. Ive been looking at parsing them but hope someone already has something available!
we don't have an android box, feel free to donate one! otherwise, point us to transid's and we can attempt to parse whatever new file format they spit out rather than one of the many that already exist.
Wasnt going to hijack this thread.

could any of you who have used and uploaded a g-mon non-kml output file please send their transids to wigle-admin@wigle.net so we can have a look at the format/output?
thanks.
thanks.

We've added support for G-Mon's KML output. Let us know how well it works!
