Jigle problem
I am having a problem getting JiGle to do anything. On Linux, when I do run,sh I get these errors.
java.io.FileNotFoundException: mapData/bounds.txt (No such file or directory)
at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source)
at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(Unknown Source)
at java.io.FileReader.<init>(Unknown Source)

at org.mimezine.jigle.SquigleAPI.<init>(SquigleAPI.java:72)
at org.mimezine.jigle.JiGLE.<init>(JiGLE.java:366)
at org.mimezine.jigle.JiGLE.innermain(JiGLE.java:244)
at org.mimezine.jigle.JiGLE.access$000(JiGLE.java:71)
at org.mimezine.jigle.JiGLE$Main.run(JiGLE.java:238)

I can't get anything to work unless I am online. Then all it can do is authenticate. Any suggestions appreciated.

It looks like I had a bad download on my first try. I Just got a good download and errors are gone.
New question. Where should the mappacks I download be put,
ie in the JiGLE/mapData dir? Doesn't one mappack overwrite the
current data in that dir?

OK, I figured it out.
For others that were not able to find any info on how to do it.
Download a mappack and unzip it.
It will unzip to a folder called JiGLEMaps. In that folder is a maps folder.
Copy the contents of JiGLEMaps/maps/ to JiGLE/JiGLEMAPS/maps/.
Re-start JiGLE and your mappack will now be available in the <choose mappacks> button.
It would be nice if this was in the JiGLE README

Aye, bobzilla but I had not read that anywhere I looked.
I'm glad that I didn't. I plan to update for 3 different counties. If I did
unzip in the jigle dir then I would be overwriting the other county every time. That entails too much work for an old timer like me.
By putting all the map files in like I did they all remain available.
BTW I'm on a very slow dialup line here in the mountains. The less downloading the better.

Sorry Bob. Of course you are correct. As each county is a different filename it will _not_ overwrite the other counties.
My apologies for my hasty reply!

i thought we had a how-to-install-MapPacks blurb somewhere, but i'm not finding it. I added some text to the MapPack selection page. Thanks for pointing that out!
The Digle Readme file has detailed instructions about where to exactly place items.
http://wigle.net/jigle/readme.txt and the downloads page in the Digle area states drop in Jigle directory which in this case would apply to where to drop jigle mappacks as well.

As I have not used Windows in over 10 years, I did not look at that client. I did not expect that instructions for JiGLE would be in another client. [img][/img]The Digle Readme file has detailed instructions
Well now that it's in the forum, maybe it will be easier for others to find.
Thanks
