new bee with macbook..what do i need?

hello,

i want to test my wifi if i can crack it so that i can use my network..i have a feeling that my neigbor is using my wifi..andi want to test my security..

what do i need to get started for a noob like me..?

i have a macbook with leo 10.5.2 with all the latest updates..2.2ghz intel 2 duo..

It could be a four-step program.

1. Learn what your MAC address is (nothing to do with Leo 10.5.2).
2. Learn how to enable logging in your access point.
3. Learn how to read the logs.
4. If you see another MAC address than your own, then someone is suspect.
4b. This may be the wrong site for breaking into networks.

network usage analysis is best done on the network itself. the "crackability" of something is moot if they know your WAP-2 AES-256 password, because its "password". (note to self, change password. oh, i said it again!)

wireshark ( http://www.wireshark.org/ ) works on macs, if you're not comfortable with your built in tcpdump.
