Sounds like you don't have rt.jar in your CLASSPATH. That should have been set when you installed the java runtime. I would suggest installing java 1.3.1, which will most likely take care of this issue, and get you onto the most-used 1.3 version. (Or, if you're feeling adventurous, move to java 1.4.x, it's a bit faster for many things).
i have JRE 1.4.1 and i get this error ewhen trying to run jigle:
failed to load main-class manifest attribute from {path of jiggle}
any ideas?

can you send the full text of the error, plus the output from
java -version
to wigle-admin@wigle.net ?
also are you running it from the run.bat/run.sh, by hand?

those files you refer to are only for windows if im not mistakenim not running windows but that shouldnt be aproblem if this is a java app or should it?
JiGLE is a java app.
it'll run anywhere that has a display and a jre.
the wigle dev team has tested it on windows/linux and solaris, but we can't really help debug your problem without some information
the more information you can give us, the better we can help you. normally the output from the JiGLE application (however you may be running it) and the java/os versions is enough for us to start with.
feel free to email wigle-admin@wigle.net if you don't want to discuss this in the forum.
