Curious about the default ssid stats

i was just wondering if the "Networks with default SSID" stat was only based on the ssid or if it is based on the ssid and matched with the proper the manufacturer's oui?
for example:
making sure that a default ssid of Linksys is actually coming from a linksys/cisco device.
just bored and curious.

Just a ssid heuristic, ssid's and mac addresses can be changed, so it all should be taken with a grain of salt.

very true and i get that. would it be possible to get those numbers of default ssids matched with manufacturer macs?
it would be interesting to see not just the numbers of matched devices but to see the stats of non-matched devices and to possibly decipher any trends and where they might be weighted geographically.
like i said...bored and curious.
