question about message WiFi jammed

Installed WiGLE Wifi on my android phone (Samsung Galaxy 5s) today. It seems to work fine, warwalked the neighborhood, and uploaded some new networks to the map. However, after turning the app off, I get repeating messages (?not sure if from WiGLE? or some other app) saying "WiFi appears jammed, turning off, and then on, WiFi". Then I get a message that I'm connected to my WiFi network. Then this happens over and over again. The Wifi on my phone, however, appears to be working fine. Has anyone seen this, can you explain? Sounds like WiGLE Wifi was not actually turned off, use the "hamburger" 3-horizontal-line menu in the upper left corner, then click on "exit", to stop the app from actively collecting data.
