Total New Locations?

This is the last column in my upload stats. All the other columns make sense. The numbers in this column are vastly different from the rest of the columns. What does this column mean?

Observations does not equal hotspots, correct?

In other words... One hotspot may have many observations that are used to help triangualte the AP in question.

Is that correct?

every time your net-hugging software records seeing a network and has a gps fix, that's an observation.
every time we haven't seen that before, its a new one.
all of that data is used along with everyone else's data, and alot of custom software to arrive at the points that are vended by wigle.net
